Noble William R. Williams, Sr. was appointed Director of Ziyara Temple by Potentate John S. Friedel at the recommendation of the Director’s Staff in 1987.
Our Director Emeritus was born in Utica, NY. He is a graduate of Utica Free Academy and was employed as a printer.
On May 13, 1972, he married Sharon Tracy and their family consists of two sons, William R., Williams, Jr. and Kevin G. Williams. He attends Central United Methodist Church. The Williams’ make their residence in Utica, New York.
Noble Williams was raised in Oriental Lodge #224 F &AM on April 27, 1971. He is also a member of the Mohawk Valley Consistory, AASR and served as Sovereign Prince, Council of Princes of Jerusalem in 1983. He was created a Noble of Ziyara Temple, Class of June 1976. He joined the Director’s Staff in November 1976 and served as its President during 1986. He has also served as Potentate’s Aide, DeMolay Liaison, DeMolay Advisor, Rainbow Girls Advisor and is a Past Patron, Utica Chapter #452, Order of the Eastern Star.
He was active with Boy Scouts, Craftsman Club, Ilion Moose Club and the Men’s Club of Central Church. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening, camping and traveling.
