Noble Wayne Edward Towne II was born on August 21, 1966 in Rome, New York. He considers himself a life long Roman although throughout his childhood and teen years he migrated south to Florida along with his parents, Wayne and Marie Towne and his two sisters.
While in Florida, he remained active in Scouting. This continued practice eventually helped Wayne to receive the rank of Eagle Scout and was an essential part of his passage into adulthood were his fraternal interests would continue and flourish.
After graduation in 1984 from Rome Free Academy, Wayne followed his father’s footsteps into the asphalt industry at Wayne Paving Co. Inc. Working many arduous summers as a teen, Wayne learned to recognize the value of the hard work in the great outdoors, the importance of efficiency, and the fulfillment of a job well done. He presently serves as Paving Foreman and Sales Representative. Wayne appreciates the work experience he has gained in the last 25 years, most importantly its continued exposure to the community and the working relationship with his customers, employees, and most of all family.
Wayne’s most proud of his family. He married his sweetheart and best friend, Lee, who continues to make him laugh on the most trying of days. His family includes their daughters, Tami, Alyssa, Alexandra and Holly. Their sons, Kristopher and Wayne III, and of course their grandsons, Sean and Kayden, also have seats around the dinner table.
Wayne was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason in 1996 and is a proud member of Baron Steuben Lodge #264. There he served as master in 2006 and as lodge secretary. In 2008 he affiliated with Boonville-Urial Lodge #165. Currently, Captain of the Host of Darius Chapter #144 Royal Arch Masons and also an active member of the Knights Templar in Rome Commandery #45. He along with his wife, are active members of Lake Delta Chapter #590 of the Order of the Eastern Star, where he is presently serving as Associate Patron.
Wayne was created a Noble of the Mystic Shrine in 2004. He served under Ill. Sir Wayne Towne as his Personal Aide and Membership Chairman. Currently he is President of the new Keystone Cops Unit. Wayne also contributes to the Unity Council in an effort to help with Masonic-Shrine relations.
Noble Towne feels blessed to be involved within the Masonic Fraternity and its philanthropies, and feels its principled teachings, if applied, will definitely strengthen one faith. His Faith is practiced at Zion Episcopal Church in Rome where he is an active member of its Vestry.
